The story of MimiConcept begins with a great friendship. One knew him, the other knew her, and when the two got together, we got together as friends. We got along so well that we wanted to start working together. But before we found a business, we both got pregnant, just two months apart, but it didn't destroy our dream. On the contrary. When Silvie received a baby nest from a relative in Sweden, which is very popular in the Nordic countries, it was clear that this was the star product we had to offer to mothers in the Czech Republic. Silvia was six months pregnant, Kristýna was eight months pregnant when the brand MimiConcept was born with one product: the baby nest.
We toured around trade fairs with it, introducing our brand and describing what the nest actually was; it was a unique product in the Czech Republic.
Our business was born during breastfeeding, mostly at night. The long-distance consultations often took place around two in the morning, then one or the other would drop out and we would follow up smoothly at the next breastfeeding, perhaps at five in the morning. It was a winding road, but we managed to overcome every problem along the way. Over time, we developed one article into more than thirty.
As the brand took off, it was clear that we would need help and to expand the team. There are now six of us. We only employ female mothers, this is because we believe in knowing when we all have experience. There is a commonality between us, we can get along with each other and we also have a specific feel for the cause. We know very well how fragile and beautiful motherhood is, but also what a struggle it is. We know that we have to do a lot of tasks with one hand while holding a baby in the other, so we know how important it is to have essential accessories that are supremely practical and well thought out. We are moms and we do things for moms and their babies.
MimiConcept is celebrating its sixth birthday. As well as our children, Ella and Victor, going to school for the first time. Perhaps because the sixth year is such a significant milestone in the children's world, we also decided to take the brand up a notch and take it from kindergarten. We've changed our logo, we have a new website, we're planning big news and we're spreading our wings further than just the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We are entering the seventh year of the brand's existence with new enthusiasm.
Now MimiConcept is adorned with a star. Polaris. The brightest of stars. A star that has always been a reliable navigation device. Sailors turn to it when they need to find the right direction. It always shines the same, despite everything, and everyone finds it immediately because it's always in the same place. For us, Polaris is synonymous with motherly love. It is still intense anyway, whether we have a baby in our arms or are waving to our big offspring as they head out into the world. No matter where they go, they know we will always be in the same place for them. We're moms like Polaris...

At home, our favourite things are the nest and the sleeping bag - not a shot without it. My sons sleep in it, we have it in the stroller, in the nest and I take it in the car or on the plane. It gets softer and softer with each wash and I feel like the kids are still in it like a pillow. I like that baby's head is nicely encased in it and as he grows, the hood unzips and you can continue to enjoy it.
My favourite is the feather swaddle, which hugs the baby from head to toe and is nice and warm. In the early days of parenthood, it was most helpful to my husband, who learned to hold and hold the baby properly without worry. With my second child, who was born in winter, it was a necessity. We had a swaddle at home in the crib and out in the stroller. And as the kids got older, we continued to use it as a swaddle. Then we took the inside out for the summer and the warm down wrap made a great lightweight blanket. I love it when one thing can be used in multiple ways, so we always make sure our products are practical.
